It’s a fact. The volume buttons on Android phones are great for controlling some actions on the phone while the screen is on, but they become almost completely useless when the screen is off. There’s a solution to that, though.
There are many apps that allow you to customize the volume buttons to perform functions that go way beyond what’s specified, but today we’re highlighting a new app that’s not only great for the task at hand, but also adds many extra options for the volume buttons over and above the usual ones.
The Almighty Volume Keys app can even work with the screen turned off, so you can control your flashlight, no disturbance modes, or Bluetooth, just to name a few examples, and all through a series of combinations of the phone’s volume buttons.
Apply different actions to the volume buttons
The application uses access to the phone’s accessibility tools, to detect keystrokes even when the screen is off, allowing for a convenient option: skipping songs with the volume buttons, whether the screen is on or off. It also serves to pause the music, activate the recorder or tell the time aloud, all depending on the scenario and the action chosen. It’s actually an extremely practical app for people who like to exploit all the functions of their phones to the fullest.
Although the app is very recent and still works in a somewhat limited way, it does not present major complications in its use. However, we hope that in the future they will be able to include functions such as launching applications chosen by the user and activating the phone’s camera. Despite this, we insist that it is a highly recommended app.
With Almighty Volume Keys you can give much more life to the volume buttons on your Android. It’s also free, although it comes with a paid Pro version, which at the moment doesn’t offer many additional benefits.
