Porn has arrived at TikTok, but only to stay for a couple of hours, be removed from the platform and circulate in the deepest corners of Reddit. Creators like Bree Louise have managed to build up over a million followers thanks to the erotic videos that TikTok censored and now monetizes on platforms like Only Fans.

Porn on TikTok?

Just a couple of weeks ago, TikTok was filled with videos featuring a translucent filter that had the peculiarity of hiding the body itself, highlighting only the silhouette. This led tiktokers to upload videos without clothes or even videos where an erection could be sensed. In fact, one of these last videos managed to become viralized and ended up flooding the screen of more than 26,000 people around the world, which caused the platform to eliminate the filter, thus ending up with one of the most sexual challenges ever created.

Trend

The above anecdote is another example that exemplifies the rise of pornography in TikTok. Although most of the videos are intended to be uploaded by singing or playback, more and more creators are uploading pornographic videos, which are then shared and disseminated by Reddit users.

For example, tiktoker Bree Louise’s profile began to shift towards pornography when, on her 18th birthday, she decided to repeat her most popular dances without her clothes on. This quickly led to her community surpassing a million followers and she became one of the first porn stars born on the platform. However, the fame didn’t last long. TikTok removed her profile for violating her usage policies.

However, once she passed the one million followers mark, for tiktokers like Bree Louise, censorship is not the biggest problem. When TikTok was shut down, she took her community to sites where she could upload the kind of content TikTok prohibited. So, networks like Instagram or Snapchat have allowed him to keep in touch with his fans and promote what he does in other paid digital environments.

Through platforms like Only Fans, tiktokers like Bree Louise can upload erotic content and, more importantly, charge for it. Considering that a monthly subscription to her content (mainly photos and videos) costs $15 and that her legion of fans amounts to 7,500 people, discounting the 20% that Only Fans takes, Louise receives a monthly profit of around $90,000.

Model change

According to Alex Hawkins, vice president of the xHamster platform, the generation Z and the younger millennials are more willing to pay for erotic content than previous generations and even more so if it is created by the same person who appears in the video. If we add to this change in the dynamics of consumption the fact that for at least five years we have been living in the era of home videos featuring natural bodies, it makes sense that this type of subscription is on the rise.

However, behind this new trend hides a time bomb that will have to explode at any moment, and it is the bomb of the message that these characters give to the youngest, who are made to believe that a way to earn a lot of money and to be successful, is through prostitution. Every day there are more and more followers of characters like Bree Luise, who are willing to show in public something as private as their sex life, because they see it as an easy and quick way to get money that they certainly could not get if they were working in some traditional profession.

Prostitution has accompanied human beings since they first set foot on this earth, and since pornography appeared, the number of people sharing all kinds of sex videos is growing every year, and it seems that now TikTok is contributing in some way to this trend.

Without a doubt the generation of facilism is taking control and when everything is in their hands, what will they do to sustain this planet?
